Introduction

Tathagata Buddha

"To travel far and wide, through many lands and cultures, opens one's mind and heart towards the love of nature and humanity.

But the greatest of all journeys is to travel deep within oneself, into the mystic fields of spiritual consciousness, and taste the tranquil fruits of patience, compassion, wisdom and understanding."

Bodhi Tree Wisdom

Started in October 2007, by well traveled owners, Bodhi Tree has become one of the most popular places to stay in Kolkata for independent and culture oriented travelers from across the globe.

An eclectic mix of a B&B, Serviced Apartment, Guest House, Inn and a Boutique Hotel, Bodhi Tree also combines an art gallery, a garden and a patio library along with thematic rooms and suites to offer a truly unique experience of stay.

Located, close to the Rabindra Sarovar Metro Station, in the quiet and peaceful Swiss Park, Bodhi Tree guarantees peace, beauty and tranquility, in an informal friendly atmosphere.

Bodhi Tree has been designed and created by the owners themselves, Santasree Chaudhuri and Devdan Chaudhuri, who have traveled over 25 countries and 150 destinations between them, and truly understand the needs of the independent global traveler.

Santasree Chaudhuri is an Entrepreneur ( Logistics Management Consultant ) and Woman Activist ( winner of National Women Excellence Award, Mahila Shiromani Award, Indira Gandhi Priyadarshini Award amongst others ) and her son, Devdan, is also the Owner and Chief Creative of the art gallery – Monastery of Art, and is involved in other independent creative ventures.

Santasree Chaudhuri and Devdan Chaudhuri are keen travelers, art collectors and takes special interest in spiritual literature.

Spirituality is the underlying theme of design, where the elements of form co-exist in a balanced harmony with space.

It is a truth that in our lives we cannot experience anything, but our own self.

All the experiences of people, places, things and circumstances only happen in relation to our own self, and depend upon our own response.

There lies a vast reservoir of peace, love, happiness and understanding, at the deeper ground of our own self.

In the ambient flavor of Bodhi Tree, you will come home to yourself.

"There are only two mistakes one can make along the road to truth; not going all the way, and not starting"
